This is a question being asked of the women bureaucrats by the Indian government in a new job appraisal form. They are also supposed to furnish details of their menstrual history. I wonder why they are not being asked when they had their last intercourse (with whom? or with what?) and their last orgasm (fake or real).
This country is really hostile towards three categories of citizens: the women, the elderly, and the physically challenged. All these categories have special/extra needs and whenever these needs are catered to they are made to feel indebted.
Can you imagine, being pregnant is considered a disadvantage? I mean, hello! We are all here because someone did the job of being pregnant. If women need extra holidays and special arrangements for being women, they have all the right to get them. Nobody is accommodating nobody. We live in this world as men and women and we all have our own special needs. If you have a problem with that, too bad.
I think the fundamental problem is that there are very few women present at the higher, decision-making levels and most of the nut-cases there are men. And these men are constantly devising ways to make things difficult for all those fellow human beings who force them to see beyond their blinkered views. Women, and people from all the disadvantaged sections, should strive hard and get themselves posted at those higher levels from where some progress can happen from top-downwards.
In the meantime, I hope all women bureaucrats come together and get these silly questions removed from the appraisal form. In fact they should file a court case to set an example.
Update: the government has decided to remove the objectionable questions.
