i do not know about why French, but i know why "the bankers and the financial forecasters" makes repeated appearances in this book. the author is finance specialist. this book is kind of Geeta for security analysts/financial whizkids/stock market players. this books comes in similar league as "intelligent investor" and "security analysis" by Graham (God of value investing).

although i have not read this book (black swan) nor read SA. but have seen black swan used by many security analyst bloggers in their writings.
